European Aerospace and Defense: Indirect Beneficiary of China Reopening

Alan Lim, CFA, Equity Analyst
20 January 2023

Summary

China’s reopening should benefit European Aerospace and Defense sector indirectly. Effective January 8, 2023, China has reopened its borders, which means travelers can now enter the country without quarantine. As China (the world’s second largest economy by GDP) begins to resume normal economic activity, we expect more air travel in both domestic and international markets, translating to higher passenger traffic for airlines.
