Summary

During the holiday season, e-commerce or non-store retail continued to dominate as consumers increasingly turned to mobile ordering over desktop for the first time. Consumers were attracted to the biggest discount days like Black Friday and Cyber Monday, resulting in record sales yet again. While the Apparel and Dining sectors saw strength, there was weakness in Furniture and Department Stores. Overall, the holiday season proved to be successful and demonstrated the resilience of the U.S. consumer.
