Summary

Despite the WSJ reporting that CFIUS is going to recommend that TikTok’s Chinese owners sell their stakes in the app, we continue to believe that, as of now, politics override national security concerns, and that Democrats are too reliant on the platform for there to be any meaningful change to the current business operations of TikTok. To be clear, if Republicans were in control and their base loved TikTok, we’d be arguing the same thing.
